The monument to Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis was built in Plungė Park, next to the palace of Mykolas Oginskis. The place of the monument symbolizes the connection between these two personalities. Duke M. Oginskis was the main sponsor of M.K. Čiurlionis' studies at the Warsaw Music Institute and the Royal Institute of Leipzig.
